Halle Day is a self taught Capeverdean Dutch music artist that produces het own music.
She is inspired by all sorts of music and it shows throughout her eclectic work.
Extrospection
Looking from the inside out. Cultural habits, traditions, social expectations, rigid structures and thought patterns have always fascinated her. And have had an impact on her growing up. Eventually it led to a critical perspective on how cultur and society are interwoven with our thought patterns , our behavior and our sense of reality.
That is how she started writing songs about the way that we think and function in a system of strict patterns.
This series of songs is part of a multi-media project called MAKE A DIFFERENT SOUND #MADS
Making a different sound to inspire critical thinking and change. A peaceful revolution.
Call it ‘experimental pop'. The melodies are not contemporary main stream and even her vocals are stripped from any “fancy” techniques, so that the message is clear and memorable. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is not meant to be. It is meant to wake up and shake up society.

The answer: a whole lot of history that led to a whole lot of backward thinking and misconceptions today.
